2009 Golden Jubilee Stakes Preview
The last of the 2009 Royal Ascot feature races is Saturday’s 6f sprint, the Golden Jubilee Stakes.
Like yesterday’s Coronation Stakes, the Golden Jubilee looks to be a top class renewal with several form horses lining up for what is likely to be a closely contested race.
South African trainer, Mike de Kock, has the antepost favourite for the race, with two times group 1 winner JJ The Jet Plane heading the betting markets.
Form Hong Kong colt Sacred Kingdom is priced co-favourite at many bookies, with this pair heavily tipped to take places in the race. At 10/1 Greek raider Ialysos is an intriguing proposition and is unbeaten in sprints in his home country.
Place bets on the favourites looks like the logical choice for what is likely to be a very close renewal. We like Ialysos as he has never tasted defeat, and would reward each-way backers generously at 10/1.
Lesson in Humility also looks like a value each-way bet at 20/1, coming into the 2009 Golden Jubilee Stakes with 4 wins from the last 7 races.
